At the Veterinary Clinic of Lubbock, we make every effort to ensure that our patients are safe and comfortable throughout their procedure by utilizing state-of-the-art technology and the most cutting-edge surgical techniques.
Before Surgery
Before each surgery, we conduct pre-surgical blood work to ensure that our patients are healthy enough to be anesthetized. We take a number of additional safety precautions, including connecting our patients to:
- IV catheter which is used to administer fluids throughout surgery and in case of emergency
- Monitoring systems for heart rate, respiration, pulse, etc. to ensure that everything is functioning normally
- Heat blankets to help maintain the pet’s body temperature throughout the procedure
During Surgery
We utilize a number of exceptional, state-of-the-art surgical tools to help us provide the best care possible to our patients. We have the ability to perform laser surgery for a number of procedures, including spay and neuter and tumor removal. This surgery modality allows for a cleaner cut resulting in faster healing, less bleeding, and less swelling.
